ZHEGU Blerta

Born in Tirana (Albania), Blerta Zhegu began her vocal studies in her home country with Nina Mula, an emblematic figure of the Albanian vocal school, as well as with Nathaniel Brosdky.
She later refined her training at the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory in Bolzano, the Accademia Chigiana (Italy), the Darius Milhaud Conservatory in Aix-en-Provence, and the Académie de Musique Française of Michel Plasson (France).

Her artistic development has been further enriched through numerous masterclasses with leading opera singers, including Renato Bruson, Leo Nucci, Luciana Serra, José Van Dam, Sophie Koch, Enzo Tei, Yvonne Minton, Inva Mula, Ermonela Jaho, and Jean-Philippe Lafont, all of whom contributed to shaping a highly mature vocal and musical identity.

Since 2010, she has performed on major international stages such as the Teatro dell’Opera di Pisa, Teatro Goldoni Livorno, Teatro del Giglio Lucca, Teatro Coccia Novara, Bolzano Theatre, Teatro di Vicenza, Teatro di Rovigo, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona (Italy), Tirana Opera House (Albania), Tunis Opera House (Tunisia), Tashkent Opera House (Uzbekistan), Grand Théâtre d’Avignon, Opéra de Vichy, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra de Marseille, Palais de la Musique et des Congrès de Strasbourg, Grand Théâtre de Provence, Fondation Vasarely (Aix-en-Provence), Salle Musikatreize, Auditorium du Petit Palais, Auditorium of the Cité de la Musique in Paris (France), BOZAR (Belgium), Casa de la Música, Quito (Ecuador), the Roman Amphitheatres of El Djem, Oudhna and Kélibia (Tunisia), as well as leading concert halls in China including Tianjin Grand Theatre, Zhongshan Concert Hall (Beijing), Jinan Grand Theatre, Henan Concert Hall, Xi’an Concert Hall, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, Hangzhou Grand Theatre, Zhuhai Grand Theatre, Xinghai Concert Hall (Guangzhou), Yongzhou Arts Center, Guangxi Culture and Art Center, and Meixi Lake International Culture & Arts Centre in Changsha. She has also appeared at the Chorégies d’Orange, Bruno Walter Auditorium, and Lincoln Center in New York.

She has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as Michel Plasson, Emmanuel Plasson, Valerio Galli, Gianna Fratta, Vittorio Parisi, Alvise Casellati, Eddie de Nadai, Roni Porat, Oleg Agapi, Hugues Reiner, Nathalie Marin, Samuel Jean, and Jean-Michel Ferran.

A laureate of several international competitions, Blerta Zhegu now pursues a well-established career on opera and concert stages in France and abroad, acclaimed for the richness of her timbre, the elegance of her phrasing, and her strong artistic commitment.
