UNGER Tilmann

With his expressive stage presence, Tilmann Unger is a much sought-after artist in the major roles of the German heldentenor repertoire.
After outstanding role debuts as Tristan and Der Fremde (Korngold, Das Wunder der Heliane), Tilmann Unger will appear in the 2025/26 season in new productions including roles such as
Tristan (Tristan und Isolde) and Siegfried in Götterdämmerung.
Engagements have taken him, among others, to the Bayreuth Festival, Komische Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Hannover, Oper Leipzig, to the Staatstheater Braunschweig, Mainz, am Gärtnerplatz München, Nürnberg and Wiesbaden, to the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, to the Nederlandse Reisopera Enschede, Oper Graz, the Landestheater Innsbruck and Linz as well as to the Volksoper Wien.
Tilmann Unger impresses in the dramatic repertoire with Wagner roles such as Tristan, Siegfried (Siegfried & Götterdämmerung), Siegmund (Walküre), Loge (Rheingold), Stolzing (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and Parsifal, but also as Der Fremde in Korngold's Das Wunder der Heliane, Florestan
(Fidelio) and Tambourmajor in Wozzeck by A. Berg, as König Kandaules in Zemlinky's opera of the same name, as Max (Freischütz), Stewa and Albert Gregor in Jenůfa and Die Sache Makropulos by Janáček, as Grigori (Boris Godunov), Hans (Die verkaufte Braut), Babinsky (Schwanda, der Dudelsackpfeifer), Jim Mahoney (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny) or also as Tassilo (Gräfin Mariza) and Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus).
He has worked with conductors such as Semyon Bychkov, Pablo Heras-Casado, Patrick Lange, Sir Roger Norrington, Ainārs Rubiķis, Jac van Steen and Nathalie Stutzmann as well as with directors such as Calixto Bieto, Andreas Homoki, Peter Konwitschny, Josef Köpplinger and Jakob Peters-Messer, to name but a few.
Tilmann Unger has given concerts at the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Philharmonie am Gasteig Munich, at the Meistersingerhalle Nürnberg and the Vienna Konzerthaus as
well as in Canada, the USA and in Asia.
His concert repertoire includes works such as Beethoven's Missa solemnis and Symphony No. 9, Bruch's oratorio Moses or Bruckner's Te Deum as well as Das klagende Lied and Das Lied von der Erde by Gustav Mahler.
