Mezzo-soprano

JOBIC Annouk

Annouk Jobic immersed herself in music from an early age, learning several instruments (harp, guitar, then viola) before turning to voice, studying first in Bourg-la-Reine, then in Rueil-Malmaison and Boulogne-Billancourt, and finally at the CNSM in Lyon, where she graduated in 2023 with highest honors—unanimous distinction and congratulations from the jury—for her Master’s recital.

Her rich, expressive voice allows her to take on a wide variety of roles, from trouser roles to strong, characterful women, including Lazuli (L’Étoile by Chabrier), Juno (Orphée aux Enfers), Orestes (La Belle Hélène), Mother Marie (Dialogues des Carmélites), the Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte), and Phœnice (Armide by Gluck).

In 2019, she performed the role of Public Opinion (Orphée aux Enfers) at the Festival Lyrique de Samoëns. In the same edition, she took part in the creation of La Résurrection d’Orphée, written and directed by Gérard Théruel, in which she played the title role of Orphée.

In 2022, she was invited to the Franz Curti Festival in Switzerland to perform the role of Mutter Hannah (Rösli vom Säntis by Franz Curti) as well as Eine Stimme (Die Gletscherjungfrau by Franz Curti), directed by Renate Muggli and conducted by Jean-Marie Curti.

She completed her studies at the CNSM de Lyon with a performance of La Belle Hélène, conducted by Philippe Forget and staged by Bernard Rozet.

Alongside her stage work, Annouk Jobic is passionate about the Lied and Mélodie repertoire. In 2021, she participated in masterclasses and concerts led by Anne Le Bozec, organized by Présence Compositrices around the songs of Pauline Viardot. Since then, she has formed Duo Mirage with pianist Antoine Sorel.

Beyond the piano-voice repertoire, she also enjoys chamber music. In 2017, she performed Berio’s Folk Songs at the “Entrez dans la danse” Festival at the Philharmonie de Paris and the Théâtre National de Chaillot. In 2022, she was invited to the Cord’Hérault Festival to perform Fauré’s La Bonne Chanson with piano and string quintet.

She thrives at the heart of contemporary creation and enjoys being part of innovative projects. In 2023, she premiered Médée dans la Baignoire, a piece for mezzo-soprano and seven instruments by Jiyoung Lee. At the same time, she performed Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire at the CNSM de Lyon’s What’Sup Festival in a unique mimodrama format, playing the role of the Poet.

She is a scholarship recipient of the Société Générale Corporate Foundation “C’est vous l’avenir” for the 2022–2023 year.

Among her upcoming engagements: the Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte) at Salle Ravel in Levallois, as well as L’Elisir d’amore in Bordeaux, Reims, and at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
