ALBUQUERQUE Rafaela
Born in Portugal, Rafaela Albuquerque began her musical journey with violin studies at the Academia de Música de Santa Cecília in Lisbon, before pursuing vocal studies at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisbon, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree.
She began her career with roles such as Sofia (*Il Signor Bruschino*) and Lauretta (*Gianni Schicchi*) with the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.
She then joined the Fabbrica, a program for young singers at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, where she had the opportunity to explore numerous roles: Barbarina (*Le Nozze di Figaro*), Clorinda (*La Cenerentola*), the Priestess (*Aida*), Annina (*La Traviata*), and especially Zerlina (*Don Giovanni*). She also covered the roles of Musetta (*La Bohème*) and Gilda (*Rigoletto*).
In 2018, she won the first prize at the Classic Pure Vienna International Competition.
Recently, she portrayed Rosina (*Il Barbiere di Siviglia*) in Sesimbra and Jessie (*Mahagonny Songspiel*) during the Operafest in Lisbon.
